1 lb fresh asparagus
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Optional for Serving
2 tablespoons pecorino cheese, grated
Lemon wedges
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Wash and thoroughly dry the asparagus. Trim the woody ends by cutting 1–2 inches from the bottom.
Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
Place asparagus in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
Arrange asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 5–10 minutes, depending on thickness, shaking once halfway through, until tender and lightly crispy.
Serve immediately with grated pecorino cheese and a squeeze of fresh lemon, if desired.
Dry well: Removing excess moisture helps the asparagus crisp better.
Single layer: Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking.
Thickness matters:
Thin asparagus: 5–6 minutes
Medium: 7–8 minutes
Thick: 9–10 minutes
Flavor boost: Add lemon zest, parmesan, or chili flakes just before serving.
