These Sweet Air Fryer Churro Bites are golden, crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside—everything you love about classic churros, made lighter and easier in the air fryer. Rolled in fragrant cinnamon sugar and perfect for dipping, they’re an irresistible treat for parties, holidays, or a cozy dessert at home.
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup plain (all-purpose) flour
⅓ cup + 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 cup water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (freshly ground for best flavor)
1 cup white sugar
Make the Dough
In a saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat.
Reduce heat and gradually stir in the flour, mixing constantly until a smooth dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Remove from heat.
Cool & Mix
Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl and let cool for 4–5 minutes.
Add the egg and vanilla, then beat with an electric hand mixer until smooth and glossy.
Prepare for Air Frying
Transfer the dough to a piping bag. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with a neutral nonstick spray.
Pipe the Churros
Pipe bite-sized pieces into the basket, leaving space between them.
(You can also drop spoonfuls of dough if preferred.)
Air Fry
Lightly brush the tops with melted butter.
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, until golden brown. Cook in batches if needed.
Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
While churros are still warm, roll them in the mixture until fully coated.
Tip: Brush with extra melted butter or lightly spray with water to help the sugar stick.
Serve & Enjoy
Serve warm with chocolate syrup, honey, caramel, or Nutella for dipping.
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket—this ensures even crisping.
Fresh cinnamon makes a big difference in aroma and flavor.
Extra crunch: Add 1–2 more minutes if you like them crispier.
Make ahead: Reheat leftovers in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes.
