This Strawberry Heaven dessert is soft, fluffy, creamy, and full of sweet strawberry flavor. It uses angel food cake, a silky cream layer, and a fresh strawberry glaze that makes every bite taste like summer. It’s easy to put together, requires no baking, and feeds a crowd—perfect for potlucks, holidays, or family gatherings!
1 angel food cake
1 (16 oz) container Cool Whip
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 quart fresh strawberries, sliced
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 (3 oz) package strawberry Jell-O
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup water
In a saucepan, combine ½ cup sugar, cornstarch, strawberry Jell-O, lemon juice, and water.
Cook over medium heat, stirring until it boils and thickens.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Gently fold the sliced strawberries into the cooled glaze and set aside.
Tear angel food cake into 1-inch pieces.
Mix with 2 cups of Cool Whip.
Press this mixture into the bottom of your baking dish.
In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese with the remaining ½ cup sugar and vanilla.
Fold in the leftover Cool Whip.
Spread this creamy layer evenly over the cake mixture.
Pour the strawberry-glaze mixture evenly over the cream layer.
Refrigerate for 2–3 hours to set completely.
Scoop, slice, and enjoy!
Let the glaze cool, but not fully set — it should still be pourable.
Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and color.
If you prefer a lighter dessert, you can use light Cool Whip and reduced-fat cream cheese.
Great for making a day ahead — it actually tastes even better chilled overnight!
