These no breading air fryer chicken tenders are a healthy, high-protein meal with great flavor and a juicy texture. They’re quick to prepare, require simple pantry spices, and are perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep. With no flour or breadcrumbs, this recipe keeps things light while still being satisfying.
2 pounds chicken tenders
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels. Lay them on a plate and sprinkle half of the seasoning mix over the chicken. Rub it in, flip the tenders, and season the other side with the remaining spices.
Lightly spray the chicken tenders with coconut oil spray.
Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving a little space between each piece. Cook in batches if needed.
Air fry at 360°F (182°C) for 6 minutes, flip the tenders, then cook for another 6 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
Prepare the chicken as directed above and place the tenders on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway through, until fully cooked and lightly golden.
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket—space helps the chicken cook evenly.
Always use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
You can season the chicken up to 24 hours ahead and store it in the refrigerator.
For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne or smoked paprika.
