It’s made with lean chicken breast, fresh orange juice, and a simple homemade sauce for a quick, wholesome dinner you can feel good about.
1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
1/2 tsp baking soda
Salt, to taste
2 tbsp fresh orange juice
1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger, minced
1/3 cup fresh orange juice
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 1/2 tbsp chili garlic sauce (optional)
1/2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp orange zest
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp ginger, minced
1/2 tsp red chili flakes
3 tbsp brown sugar
Salt, to taste
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp green onions, chopped
1 cup cooked rice (optional)
1/2 cup steamed broccoli or vegetables (optional)
In a medium bowl, combine all marinade ingredients. Mix well and let the chicken marinate for at least 10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, whisk together all orange sauce ingredients until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add oil.
Add chicken pieces in a single layer. Cook for 4–5 minutes, flip, and cook another 5–6 minutes until fully cooked and lightly golden.
Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet.
Cook uncovered for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
Serve warm with rice and steamed vegetables if desired.
