Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough

  • 2 cups warm milk (110°F / 43°C)

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 45 cups all-purpose flour

For the Filling

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5–10 minutes, until frothy.
Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.

Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1–1½ hours, or until doubled in size.

2. Make the Filling

In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.

3. Shape the Rolls

Punch down the dough and roll into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread garlic butter evenly over the surface. Roll tightly from the long edge and cut into 12 equal slices.

4. Second Rise

Place rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes, until puffy.

5. Bake

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh yeast for the best rise and fluffy texture.

  • Don’t over-flour—a slightly soft dough makes tender rolls.

  • Add cheese like mozzarella or Parmesan to the filling for extra richness.

  • Brush with butter after baking for an extra glossy, flavorful finish.
