Garlic Butter Chicken (15-Minute Skillet Dinner)

Garlic Butter Chicken (15-Minute Skillet Dinner)

Tender, juicy chicken breasts cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce with a splash of white wine for extra depth of flavor. This easy stovetop chicken recipe is ready in just 15 minutes, making it perfect for busy weeknights while still feeling special enough for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to even thickness (about 4 breasts)

  • 12 teaspoons 21 Salute Seasoning or poultry seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)

  • ½ cup white wine or chicken broth

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (add more if you like extra sauce)

  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely minced

  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Season the chicken evenly with seasoning blend, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Add the chicken to the hot skillet and cook undisturbed for 5 minutes, allowing it to develop a golden crust.

  4. Flip the chicken and cook the second side for another 5 minutes, or until fully cooked through (thicker pieces may need 6–7 minutes).

  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

  6. Carefully deglaze the skillet by adding the wine (or broth). Let it bubble and reduce for a few seconds, scraping up any browned bits.

  7. Add the butter and stir until melted.

  8. Stir in the garlic and cook for about 1 minute, just until fragrant.

  9. Turn off the heat, return the chicken to the skillet, and spoon the garlic butter sauce over the top.

  10. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Pound the chicken evenly: This ensures quick, even cooking and keeps the chicken juicy.

  • Don’t move the chicken while searing: Letting it sit creates a beautiful golden crust.

  • Use fresh garlic: It gives the sauce a stronger, richer flavor than garlic powder.

  • Want more sauce? Add an extra tablespoon or two of butter before serving.
