Making frozen hash browns in the air fryer is one of the easiest ways to get perfectly crispy, golden hash browns with no mess and no deep frying. They cook straight from frozen and are ready in minutes, making them ideal for a quick breakfast or brunch side.
2–4 frozen hash brown patties
Preheat the air fryer
Preheat to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Prepare the basket
If using a non-stick basket, no oil is needed. If using an oven-style air fryer, lightly spritz the basket with oil.
Arrange the hash browns
Place frozen hash brown patties in a single layer, leaving space between each one. Do not stack.
Cook
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through at the 5-minute mark.
For less crispy hash browns, cook for 8–9 minutes.
For extra crispy, cook the full 12 minutes.
Serve
Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately while hot and crispy.
Leave space between patties so air can circulate properly.
No extra oil is needed since frozen hash browns are already pre-oiled.
