  • 8 slices brioche or challah bread

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (plus extra for dusting)

  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced

  • ¼ cup strawberry jam

  • 2 large eggs

  • 3 tbsp milk

  • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)

Optional Add-ins: Chopped nuts (almonds or pecans) for extra crunch

Instructions

1. Prepare the Filling

  1. In a small bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.

  2. Spread the mixture onto one side of 4 bread slices.

2. Assemble Sandwiches

  1. Top the cream cheese layer with sliced strawberries and a spoonful of strawberry jam.

  2. Cover with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.

3. Prepare for Frying

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk.

  2. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.

4. Fry the Sandwiches

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp butter.

  2. Fry sandwiches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

  3. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

5. Serve

  • Dust sandwiches with powdered sugar and enjoy warm.

  • Swap strawberry jam with raspberry or apricot jam for a fun twist.
