These Air Fryer Apple Fries are a crispy, sweet twist on classic apple snacks! Fresh apple slices are coated in a light cinnamon–sugar breading and air-fried until perfectly golden on the outside but soft and warm inside. They’re quick, fun, and great for after-school snacks, fall treats, or healthier desserts. Dip them in caramel, whipped cream, or vanilla yogurt for extra deliciousness!
2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith recommended)
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 large egg
2 tbsp milk
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Nonstick cooking spray
Prep the apples:
Peel if desired. Slice into thin fry-shaped sticks. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove moisture.
Set up coating stations:
Bowl 1: flour
Bowl 2: whisked egg + milk
Bowl 3: panko breadcrumbs + sugar + cinnamon
Coat the apple sticks:
Dredge each piece in flour → dip in egg mixture → coat in cinnamon-sugar breadcrumbs.
Air fry:
Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray. Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook:
Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway, until crisp and golden.
Serve:
Enjoy warm with caramel dip, whipped cream, or vanilla yogurt!
Pat the apples dry so the coating sticks well.
Work in batches to avoid overcrowding and help crispiness.
Swap panko for crushed cornflakes for extra crunch.
Add nutmeg or apple pie spice for more fall flavor.
Best served fresh—air-fried apples soften as they cool.
