This Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bread tastes just like a classic cinnamon sugar donut—but in soft, sliceable loaf form. It’s sweet, tender, and swirled with a buttery cinnamon-sugar ribbon throughout. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon snack with coffee, this easy bread delivers cozy bakery flavors with minimal effort.
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Preheat the oven
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar
In another bowl, beat the butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
Add wet ingredients
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until combined.
Combine batter
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
Assemble the loaf
Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Mix the topping sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle half over the batter.
Add remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
Swirl and bake
Use a knife to gently swirl for a marbled effect.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Don’t overmix: Overmixing can make the bread dense instead of soft and tender.
Extra donut flavor: Brush the warm loaf with melted butter and sprinkle with extra cinnamon sugar.
Even baking: Tent loosely with foil if the top browns too quickly.
Clean slices: Allow the bread to cool fully before cutting.
