Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef

  • 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated

  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 3 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prep Ingredients:
Mince the garlic and ginger, and slice the cabbage into thin strips.

  • Heat the Pan:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  • Cook the Beef:
Add ground beef and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart, until browned and fully cooked.

  • Add Aromatics:
Stir in garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.

  • Cook the Cabbage:
Add the sliced cabbage and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring frequently, until slightly wilted but still crisp.

  • Season:
Pour in soy sauce and stir well. Cook for another 2–3 minutes to let flavors combine.

  • Finish & Serve:
Drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry, remove from heat, and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Extra veggies: Add carrots, bell peppers, or mushrooms for more color and texture.

  • Spicy kick: Stir in chili garlic sauce or red pepper flakes.

  • Low-carb option: Enjoy on its own or over cauliflower rice.

  • Protein swap: Ground pork or turkey works just as well.
