Cheesy Chicken Garlic Wraps (Crispy, Flavor-Packed & Family-Approved)

Cheesy Chicken Garlic Wraps are the perfect combination of bold flavor and everyday convenience. Juicy garlic-marinated chicken, melted mozzarella and cheddar, and optional spinach are wrapped in soft tortillas, then toasted until golden and crispy. These wraps are quick enough for busy weeknights, yet satisfying enough to become a family favorite. Serve them for lunch, dinner, or even as a casual party meal with a side of sour cream or your favorite dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 4 large flour tortillas

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves (optional)

  • 1/2 cup sour cream, for serving

  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse the chicken breasts, pat dry, and slice into thin strips about 1 inch wide.

  • Marinate
In a bowl, mix garlic, olive oil, paprika, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken strips and toss until evenly coated. Let marinate for 15–20 minutes.

  • Cook the Chicken
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with a splash of olive oil. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 75°C). Remove from skillet.

  • Cook the Spinach (Optional)
Add spinach to the same skillet and sauté for 1–2 minutes until wilted. Remove and set aside.

  • Assemble the Wraps
Lay tortillas flat. Divide the chicken evenly among them. Top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, then add spinach if using.

  • Roll the Wraps
Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then roll tightly from bottom to top.

  • Toast the Wraps
Wipe the skillet clean and return to medium heat. Place wraps seam-side down and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

  • Serve
Let rest briefly, slice in half, garnish with cilantro, and serve with sour cream.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when cooking chicken to ensure proper browning.

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for the best melt and flavor.

  • Make it spicy by adding chili flakes or cayenne to the marinade.

  • Meal-prep friendly: Cook the chicken ahead of time and assemble wraps when ready to eat.

  • Swap proteins: This recipe also works well with turkey, shrimp, or leftover rotisserie chicken.
