This Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken is a fast, flavorful dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Juicy chicken pieces are marinated in a sticky, savory-sweet teriyaki sauce, then air fried to perfection in under 15 minutes. It’s naturally gluten-free, low-carb, and loved by the whole family.
1–1.25 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or chicken breast
⅔ cup teriyaki sauce (gluten-free if needed)
Chopped scallions, optional (for garnish)
Sesame seeds, optional (for garnish)
Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel. Cut into 1–1½ inch cubes and place in a medium bowl.
Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken and toss until fully coated.
Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 1 hour.
If marinating longer than 30 minutes, refrigerate the chicken.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the basket with non-aerosol cooking spray.
Arrange the chicken in a single layer and cook for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately. Garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds if desired.
Best cut: Chicken thighs stay extra juicy, but chicken breast works well too.
Extra caramelization: Brush a little extra teriyaki sauce on the chicken during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
No time to marinate? Let it sit for at least 10 minutes—still delicious.
Serving ideas: Serve over cauliflower rice, jasmine rice, quinoa, or alongside steamed broccoli.
Spicy twist: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
