These Air Fryer French Toast Sticks are golden on the outside, soft on the inside, and ready in just minutes. They’re perfect for busy mornings, relaxed weekend brunches, or a fun, kid-friendly snack. Made with simple pantry ingredients, this recipe delivers classic French toast flavor with less mess and faster cooking.
4 slices bread (white, brioche, or Texas toast work best)
⅓ cup milk
2 large eggs
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon butter (or cooking spray, for greasing)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
⅓ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Maple syrup, optional for serving
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) if required by your model.
Slice each piece of bread into sticks and set aside.
In a bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
In a separate shallow bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon.
Lightly grease the air fryer basket with butter or cooking spray.
Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
Place the sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Remove from the air fryer and immediately sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite dipping sauce.
Best bread: Slightly stale or thick-cut bread holds up best and won’t get soggy.
Extra crisp: Add 1–2 more minutes of cooking time for crispier sticks.
Flavor boost: Add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar.
Dips: Try chocolate sauce, honey, fruit syrup, or yogurt for dipping.
