This Air Fryer Baked Potato recipe gives you perfectly crispy skin with a fluffy, creamy center—without waiting an hour for the oven. It’s quick, simple, and made with just a few basic ingredients. Enjoy it as an easy side dish or load it up with your favorite toppings for a satisfying meal.
3 russet potatoes (about 300 g each)
1½ tablespoons oil
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) if your model requires preheating.
Wash and dry the potatoes thoroughly.
Rub the potatoes all over with oil, then season generously with salt and pepper.
Pierce each potato once in the center with a fork.
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
Cook for 40 minutes, turning once halfway if desired.
Smaller potatoes may need less time
Larger potatoes may need a few extra minutes
Check doneness by inserting a knife into the center. If it slides in easily, the potatoes are ready. If not, cook for another 5–10 minutes.
Remove carefully, slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.
Extra crispy skin: Sprinkle a little extra salt on the skin after oiling.
No oil option: Use cooking spray for a lighter version (skin will be slightly less crispy).
Toppings idea: Butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon bits, chives, or Greek yogurt.
Meal prep: Cook extra potatoes and reheat in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes.
