Air Fryer Apples: The Ultimate Guide to a Warm, Healthy, and Irresistible Treat

These air fryer apples are an easy, warm treat packed with sweet cinnamon flavor. Perfect as a healthy dessert, snack, or breakfast topping, they cook quickly and caramelize beautifully in the air fryer. You can make them soft and juicy or slightly crispy, depending on how you cut the apples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)

  • 2 teaspoons oil or melted butter (optional, omit for fat-free)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Apples
Gather all ingredients. Lightly grease the air fryer tray or line it with air fryer liners.
Peel the apples if desired, then chop them into small squares. You may also cut them into sticks or thin slices for apple chips. Discard the cores and seeds.

  • Season
Place the apples in a bowl and toss with cinnamon, maple syrup (or sweetener), and optional melted butter or oil until evenly coated.

  • Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C).

  • Air Fry
Arrange the apples in a single layer on the prepared tray. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if needed.
Air fry for 7 minutes, then open the air fryer and shake or stir the apples.

  • Finish Cooking
Air fry for an additional 8 minutes, or until the apples are caramelized and cooked to your desired texture.

  • Serve
Serve warm on their own or as a topping for oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes, or ice cream.

Notes

  • For softer apples, cut into larger chunks; for crispier apples, slice thinly.

  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice for extra warmth.

  • Use coconut sugar, honey, or sugar-free syrup if preferred.

  • Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
